Born in Rio de Janeiro, Márcia Maria is “carioca”. Márcia Maria begins its professional career in 1968 in its birthplace. After having occurred in various clubs, theatres and round in the capitals of Brazil, Marcia is essential rather quickly like one of the des personality, most important of the country.
In its career, some musicians famous like the guitarist Manuel da Conceição, the saxophonist Pixinguinha, Abel Ferreira clarinettist, Hermeto Pascoal, Waldir Azevedo cavaquinho, le creator of « Brasileirinho », Altamiro Carilho flute, Luis Carlos Vinhas pianist and others, on accompanied Márcia.
In the Nineties it continues its career with the recording in Belgium of its CD “Passion” with the famous Belgian musicians Eric Legnini, Bruno Castelucci and Jean Louis Rassinfosse like his large friend the famous Brazilian guitarist Toninho Horta. Márcia Maria starts the rounds and the festivals with the Benelux countries, Italy, Basque Country, Spain and EAU.
From 2000 to 2004 is marked by meetings with the large musicians of the European and American jazz Jorge Pardo, Jeff Berlin, Danny Gottlieb, Emanuele Tisi, Stephano di Battista, Billy Cobham, Philip Catherine, Sylvain Luc, Miroslav Vitous, Toots Thielemans, Christian Escoudé, Alfio Origlio, Rosario Bonarcorso, Olivier Ker Ourio and by participations in many festivals and rounds. Its new Acoustic album entitled Compositor is produced by the Parisian label E-justifies. Marcia Maria chose to make homage to one of the fathers of worked nova A.C.Jobim and invites these excellents Brazilian musicians Nelson Veras and Ademir Candido guitars, the bass player Natalino Neto and Zé Luis Nascimento percussions…
