Bert Cools

Steeped in music from a very early age, Bert Cools has a degree from the Rotterdam conservatory and received the Erasmus Jazz Award in 2010. Cools composes for various projects and also tours with his own groups (Métrope, Pudding o0, Hoera and Book of Air). An international artist, he has already played in Brazil, Mexico, NY, Lithuania, Spain and India. He has played as sideman to major figures such as Pomrad, Fabrizio Cassol in “Birds”, the Bruno Vansita Quintet and Big band, as well as Erik Bogearts. In 2012, he and his brother Stijn Cools created Granvat, a new music platform that supports new creations by upcoming young artists.
