Started to play drums before learning electric bass ath the “Jazz Studio” of Antwerp.

Plays and played with Laurent BLONDIAU quintet, NEG BAND, Cecile Kayira BWA, DEEP IN THE DEEP (Antoine PRAWERMAN), Peter HERTMANS, HAPPY REUNIONS (Bo VAN DER WERF), Kris DEFOORT, Pierre VANDORMAEL, Erwin VANN and MOTHER, Pierre VAIANA, Dré PALLEMAERTS, Jeroen VAN HERZEELE and his band GREETINGS FROM MERCURY etc…

Together with brother Bo Van der Werf, Otti Van der Werf is one of the founding members of experimental jazz fusion group Octurn.
